Book a Ferry to France is free to use. We pay for the research and upkeep of the site by earning a commission when you book or buy through some of our links. It never costs you anything extra: you pay the same price as you would going direct.
Where our commission comes from
- The ferry price comparison widget on many of our pages is provided by Direct Ferries. If you search and book through it, Direct Ferries may pay us a commission.
- “Book” and “Check fares” buttons on our route, port, ship and guide pages may link to ferry companies or booking sites through affiliate programmes, including Brittany Ferries, DFDS and Direct Ferries. If you book after clicking one, we may earn a commission.
- Amazon: some pages, such as our driving in France guide, link to products on Amazon, like driving in France kits. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Links that can earn us a commission are marked in our code as sponsored links, as Google asks.
How it affects what we write
- Our comparisons are built on facts: crossing times, sailings, fares we’ve checked and driving distances. The “least driving” and “quickest” labels in our tools are calculated from that data, not chosen by who pays us.
- We cover routes whether or not they earn us anything, including closed routes, so you know what’s no longer running.
- We tell you when not to use a route, such as when a cheap crossing to Calais means hundreds of extra miles of driving.
